Q: Do you answer all email?
A: We try our best to answer all email within a
timely manner. Please be aware when we have
puppies for sale we can receive up to a hundred
emails a day. We do not respond to any email that
is not signed with the sender's name.
Q: Are the puppies registered with AKC?
A: All of the cockers at Mackinaw Cocker Spaniels
are registered with AKC. Every puppy comes with
an application to be registered by the family that
purchases the puppy.
Q: Do you require an application for your puppies?
A: Yes, we have an application that is required for
the adoption of our puppies.
Q: Can I call you on the phone instead of filling out
the form on the website?
A: Yes you may call me between the hours of 9
am and 9 pm Central time. I actually prefer to have
at least one phone call with each and every
family/person that adopts one of our puppies. An
application is still required.
Q: Do you actually take the time to check the
references on the application?
A: Yes, we have checked vet references before.
Q: How can I be placed on your waiting list?
A: All approved applications are placed on the
waiting list in the order they are received.
Q: Can I send you the deposit with my application?
A: No, please do not send the deposit with your
application. All applications must be approved
before deposits are collected.
Q: Once I am approved and on the waiting list can
I send my deposit then?
A: We do not accept deposits before the puppies
are born. Once the puppy of your dreams is here
with us and your application is approved we will
accept your deposit.
Q: Do you ship your puppies?
A: Yes, we have shipped puppies before. We
would prefer to have them picked up in person if at
all possible. All shipping charges (vet cert, crate
and airline ticket) are the responsibility of the
buyer. Sometimes delivery for a fee may be an
option. (depending on location)
Q: Do your puppies come up to date on
vaccinations?
A: Yes, our puppies receive their first puppy shot,
and are de wormed before they leave our home.
Q: Do you crop your puppies tails?
A: Yes, all of our puppies have their tails docked
and their dew claws removed by our veterinarian.
We work very closely with our veterinarian to
produce and raise the healthiest puppies possible.
Q: Are you located in Mackinaw City, Michigan?
A: No, we are located in Central West Michigan.
We chose the name Mackinaw because of our love
for the history of Mackinaw City and Mackinaw
Bridge! Mackinaw is a Native Indian word that
means turtle.
Q: Do you breed other breeds of dogs?
A: No, we do not own any other breed of dogs
here at Mackinaw Cocker Spaniels.
